Ballet “Like Flowers” is about a young volunteer ‘s working experience in a Miao minority village in China.
The stage design’s inspiration comes from the unique Miao embroidery style. By interpreting the concept of ‘homeland’, it integrates together the visual elements of Miao’s embroidery stitch, Miao’s dry Railing architectural structure, hive-like hexagon pattern and Classical Chinese painting.
It also attempts applying the rule of two-dimensional style through the corresponding relationship between concept of "layer" in digital image software and the progressive layouts of theatrical rigging system.
