"Jeff Herrmann’s scenic design entails isolated pieces of foreboding gothic architecture against a black backdrop. There’s a central stone wall that keeps the secret garden behind it at bay as well as gargoyle-adorned iron gates on each side. This creates a dark and dire environment, made even more dire by Paul Miller’s dramatic lighting and a steady stream of dry ice."
